The Artisan Sloth
We don’t know about you, but we sure get a surge of pleasure from giving the perfect gift. There’s nothing like seeing the joy in a friend’s eyes or hearing a little squeal of delight to make our day. We wanted to harness that happy feeling, and this is what inspired us to found The Artisan Sloth Shop in 2023.

What is LYS?LYS stands for local yarn stores. Certain items will be available to be made in yarn from local yarn dyeing studios in and around Edmonton. Depending on the colour base, certain colour patterns could be available, there are plenty of one of a kind colours, semisolid/tonal colours, and yarns with speckles of colour throughout the base, the benefit of choosing to support a local yarn dyeing studio is you'll get to choose a colour that may not regularly be available making it a one of kind.

How long does it take to make an item?For most knitted items it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to complete. Hats and mittens take the least amount of time, anywhere from a couple days to 2 weeks.

How long does it take for an item to be made?Depending on what the item is, crochet tends to be faster most items can be completed within 2 weeks. Note: Blankets take the longest and depending on the design can take a few months to complete.
